Secondary glazing units were fitted to the windows of Brunswick Court as part of this project. A service whereby a Mega Glaze technician can add an additional pane of glass to an existing window, secondary glazing is a superb way of improving the thermal efficiency and soundproofing of an existing window. All the while, in case studies like this, end users are not forced to compromise on the period charm of any older profiles they have installed.
An issue with older, heritage windows in that they aren’t as practical or multifunctional as that of more modern systems. We installed sliding and lift out profiles as part of this project, allowing for the building to have additional emergency escape routes in worst case scenarios. These sliding and lift out profiles also allow for better control over ventilation inside the building.
